Finding out that my cholesterol levels were elevated, I decided to nip it in the bud and do something without having to resort to medications. I started watching my food and reduced my intake of carbs, especially processed carbs. At Sage Challenge, I started on a customised cardio-vascular and resistance training programme. I was able to drop my cholesterol levels to within the normal range in 3 months and I also lost weight! I have not stopped exercising since then and that was two years ago.

Unable to walk without agonising pain because of my large bunion, the doctor suggested surgery as a solution! Sage asked for 3 months to see if we could avoid surgery and relieve the pain. She accompanied me to buy more suitable and protective walking shoes and advised that I wear them 24-7 for two weeks. She also suggested I see a doctor to have a mild non-steroidal anti-inflammatory prescribed for 2 weeks and stay off my walking routine for the duration. I gradually eased into it after that. It took 3 months and now, I still have the bunion but I no longer am debilitated by it!
